WHO ARE YOU?
I am Linus. I have just started a MA in Fine Arts here at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel (HGK Basel). In my practice, I move between painting/drawing and digital three-dimensional spaces, mostly animations. Viewers are invited to wander through these fictional worlds, make themselves comfortable in them. They are barren landscapes with shapes reminiscent of body parts: skin, viscous liquids, subtle reflections, severed branches, interrupted growth, pleasant shadows, and romantic lights. An eerie memory that is simultaneously beautiful. This leads to dissonances between the inner and outer, idea and reality - an in-between emerges.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR STUDENT LIFE?
Painting, drawing, reading, discussing my work, my classmates' work, and everything else.
«In small or large groups, we brainstorm, make plans, and have discussions.»
WHAT THOUGHTS CAME TO MIND WHEN CONSIDERING THE THEME OF THE CIVIC BILLBOARD COMPETITION "HOW DO WE WANT TO BE IN TOUCH?"
I think the image I drew sums it up quite well!
«The beauty of this CIVIC Billboard is that you don't have to be a part of the academy or the campus to catch a glimpse of what's going on.»
WHAT DOES YOUR IMAGE "PUTTING OUR HEADS TOGETHER" MEAN TO YOU?
It represents the exchange at the academy. The interpersonal connections. In small or large groups, we brainstorm, make plans, and have discussions. And we don't forget about the environment. There's always a lot happening. Anyone strolling through the HGK Basel campus will see a lot, find a lively mix, dancing thoughts, sparkling eyes. It's colorful and inviting. With my work "Putting Our Heads Together," I want to tell the story of this active environment. The beauty of this CIVIC Billboard is that you don't have to be a part of the academy or the campus to catch a glimpse of what's going on. Perhaps everyone will take some color with them on their way to or from work or on a bad day going to class.
